In Maryland the law is clear that you have the
right to join any organization that you choose. In Anne Arundel
County a local exists for the membership of the Supervisors
Association. In other localities a local may not available.
MarylandIBPO local #723 was chartered as a local of the IBPO on the
6th of December 2008. It provides various resources, legal and
other benefits in most major metropolitan areas. The MarylandIBPO
is also an affiliate of the Maryland Coalition of Police and Deputy
Sheriffs, an independent statewide organization of unions and
associations in Maryland.
If you are a Deputy Sheriff, a
state law enforcement employee in a department in Maryland, or a
local law enforcement officer in any jurisdiction that does not have
an organized IBPO union or association, MarylandIBPO is available to
you and your fellow employees. If you live in Metropolitan
Washington DC or the Baltimore Metropolitan area, Full Service
Membership is available to you. In all other jurisdictions general
membership is available.
You can join Marylandibpo as a
Full Service Member (IBPO Legal Plan
and other IBPO benefits) for a cost of
$25.00 per month ($300.00 per year) and as a General Member for a
cost of $10.00 per month ($120.00 per year). As MarylandIBPO
membership expands legal service will
become the norm throughout the state. If you desire to become a
member of MarylandIBPO, please fill out the IBPO membership card and
the MarylandIBPO dues deduction card and mail them to our office, at
672 Old Mill Road, Suite 181, Millersville, Maryland 21108-1363.

Full
Service Membership in the MarylandIBPO includes the IBPO
Legal Plan and assorted benefits through the International
Brotherhood of Police Officers. It also includes benefits of
the Union Privilege program and member benefits of the Maryland
Coalition of Police and Deputy Sheriffs. You must be a full
time accredited law enforcement officer in good standing in a law
enforcement organization in the state of Maryland to join as a full
service member.
General
Membership in the MarylandIBPO includes only membership
and benefits of the Maryland Coalition of Police and Deputy
Sheriffs. As membership expands in areas not currently covered
by the legal plan members may be able to change to the Full
Service Benefit plan. Benefits for General Membership benefits
may expand as membership expands.
Affiliate
Membership in the MarylandIBPO is available for a cost of
$60.00 per year. Membership is open to any citizen or
organization or company who desires to support the activities of the
MarylandIBPO and the Maryland Coalition of Police and Deputy
Sheriffs. There are no benefits of membership as an
affiliate membership at this time. Parties interested in
